Job Title: Senior Technical Support Engineer - Linux
Job Purpose: IT Infrastructure Analyst is a key member of the Offshore Operations Delivery Centre responsible for managing and supporting enterprise server infrastructure across Linux, AS400, and AIX platforms. The role focuses on ensuring operational stability, infrastructure compliance, and process automation while providing L1–L2 support and contributing to continuous improvement of systems and documentation.
Qualification: Engineering Degree (Computers / Electronics)
Certification: Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), IBM Certified System Administrator – AIX, or IBM iSeries certifications are preferred.
AI-related training or certification will be considered an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Linux (RedHat/CentOS/Ubuntu), AS400, and AIX
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain Linux (RedHat/CentOS), AS400 (IBM iSeries), and AIX systems across production and non-production environments.
Mandatory:
Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiar with enterprise components like Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP
Virtualization: Proficient in VMware, PowerVM; exposure to containerization (Docker, K8s)
Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting using Bash, Python, PowerShell; config management via Ansible or Puppet
Monitoring & Performance: Experience with tools like SolarWinds or Nagios, performance tuning & alerts
Backup & Storage: Familiarity with Veritas, Veeam, NetBackup; understanding of enterprise storage systems
Security Patching: Deploy and manage patch repositories (Manage Engine, Red Hat Satellite, SUSE Manager, etc.), Define sync schedules, approval workflows, and deployment groups, Configure baselines and compliance policies for the patch level
Security & Compliance: System hardening, vulnerability remediation, and knowledge of audit requirements
Documentation & SOPs: Ability to draft clear SOPs and maintain infrastructure documentation
Cloud Exposure (Nice to Have): AWS, Azure, hybrid infrastructure models
