Intertec’s History:
1996
· Established new joint venture with Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) called Intertec Systems.
· Production of GM Buick Century and Regal instrument panels began at St. Marys Plant.
· Chrysler chooses JCI/ITS as their third instrument panel supplier and awards them the ‘KJ’ instrument panel cockpit.
1997
· Established Intertec Systems Sales, Engineering, and Administrative Headquarters in Southfield, Michigan.
· QS 9000 ISO 9002 registered Bardstown Plant.
· QS 9000 registered St. Marys Plant.
· St. Marys launches new model Corolla instrument panels and component parts for TMMC and NUMMI.
· The St. Marys Regal / Century team receive a JCI Merit Award for the excellent product launch in 1996.
1998
· Bardstown launches the first instrument panel Honda of America has outsourced in North America for Acura.
· St. Marys begins production of instrument panel component parts and airbag doors for the new Toyota Solara built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC).
· Awarded the GM 257 instrument panel with cockpit build-up in conjunction with JCI in Mexico.
· TRW sources Bardstown a slush skin and foam airbag door for 500,000 Ford SUV’s.
· Toyota sources Bardstown the floor console for a new vehicle to be built in Indiana.
· St. Marys receives the NUMMI Triple Crown Award for Quality, Cost and Delivery.
· Intertec Systems is awarded a second Honda instrument panel along with the integration responsibilities for 37 component suppliers for a new vehicle to be built at the Alliston, Ontario facility.
· TRW awards Bardstown the U228 and U231 airbag door projects.
1999
· Bardstown receives the Honda Plant Manager’s Award for an excellent launch on the Acura TL instrument panel.
· The ‘KJ’ instrument panel team receives the JCI Merit Award for exceptional service at Chrysler.
· Intertec Systems is awarded the instrument panel for the GM 367 as part of JCI’s first complete black box interior.
· St. Marys starts a building expansion of 19,000 square feet.
2000
· Honda awards Intertec with a third instrument panel / integration program for a North American vehicle.
· St. Marys is awarded the replacement contract for the Buick Century / Regal.
· St. Marys receives awards from NUMMI for cost and delivery with a Certificate for Safety.
· Intertec Systems is awarded the new model replacement business for the Buick Century / Regal as part of a complete interior / cockpit through JCI.
· Intertec Systems is awarded the instrument panel and various other injection components for the 2002.5 TMMC Corolla sedan and another associate vehicle.
· The Bardstown Plant receives a JCI Merit Award for outstanding safety performance.
2001
· Launched first program for DCX on Jeep Liberty with soft touch paint.
· Launches second instrument panel program (MDX) for Honda with a third scheduled for Spring, 2002.
· Opened first Intertec Systems manufacturing site in Mexico for launch of Buick Rendezvous in March.
· Produced first TPO/PU instrument panel construction with hidden airbag door in North America for Buick Rendezvous.
· Added an additional 22,500 square feet to St. Marys bringing it to 160,000 square feet.
2002
· St. Marys and Bardstown receive a Quality Certificate Award from TMMNA for their 2002 performance.
· St. Marys received a Quality and Delivery Award from NUMMI for their 2001 performance.
· St. Marys and Bardstown receive the Honda Quality Achievement Award for their 2001 performance.
· The Intertec Ramos launch team receives a JCI Merit Award for the Innovative Plant Business Model.
· Intertec Systems was awarded the 2005 Tacoma 635N floor console for NUMMI and will produce it on the West Coast.
· Intertec Systems / JCI presented Autoforward 2002 in March at the TMC Supplier Center.
· Intertec Systems was awarded a major midsize GM instrument panel and trim contract supporting the JCI cockpit requirements.
· Intertec Systems assumed the management of all instrument panel design and engineering resources for traditional OEM business from JCI as of June 15, 2002.
· Rescope of GM 365 from vac-form TPO to cast TPU triggers a 10,000 square foot expansion for St. Marys for powder slush infrastructure.
· Expanded facilities at Corporate Headquarters by 10,000 square feet to accommodate Design and Engineering
· Launched new technology HPI in North America for Mazda 6 program
2003
· SPE (Society of Plastic Engineers) Award for HPI (High Performance Integration)
· Ford World Quality Excellence Award, Silver
· Finalist for the PACE Award
· First Co-Design with TTC for the removable center console (Sienna)
· TPU slush for transplants in N.A.
· First seamless passenger airbag door in N.A. for Honda
· Secured new Ford business
· Secured new GM luxury SUV business 900
· Centralized Purchasing activities to Corporate Headquarters
· Based on strategic direction for customer alignment, Account Management and Advanced Sales have been separated as well as Product Engineering and Advanced Product Engineering
· St. Marys NUMMI Target Achievement for Quality and Delivery
2004
· Intertec/KSA West Coast begins to ship product to NUMMI
· Launched GM365 in St. Marys
2005
· ITS Corporate separates into two business units to better align with our customers
· ITS/Whitby begins to ship product to GM Oshawa
· Awarded first Ford Program with new technology RIM
2006
· ITS Celebrates 10th year anniversary
· Compounding press added in St. Marys to become more cost effective
· Will launch new technology of Reaction Injection Molding (RIM)
